Constantly prompted to supply your login credentials?


Increase in users being prompted for credentials in recent times.


Some customers have attributed it to changing to Windows 10 and managing their Microsoft Office subscription through Office 365. They have found it most noticeable after Windows Updates, though the incidence of it seems to be reducing now.


If you are caught in this situation then the best way to clean it up is to delete the users credential cache. In non-geek-speak this means:

  • close all open applications
  • open control panel and go to Credential Manager and delete every entry
  • log out and log back in.

You may get prompted a few times to start with as you go into your various applications but Windows should remember them (provided you tick the check box to remember them!!!) and settle down very quickly.
