To add a new server to MacroView DMF or Message, start Outlook or DMF Explorer and then open the DMF Options dialog, select the Servers tab and click Add.
In the Server dialog enter a Server Name and the Server Path then select the Server Type. If you have entered the URL to a SharePoint Online tenant, the Server Type should be set automatically.
The License Status indicator will then show if the server is licensed or not. If the server is licensed, click OK and start accessing the server using MacroView DMF or Message.
Understanding the License Status indicator
The License Status indicator will display one of the follow values:
The server license has already been activated and the license is current.
The server license has expired. Contact Services@macroview.com.au to renew the license.
The entered server path is not valid. Enter a valid server URL.
The entered server path cannot be found. Confirm that you have entered the server URL correctly. If you are adding a SharePoint Online (Office 365) server, make sure the URL begins with https:// and that the selected server type is SharePoint Online (Office 365). If you are unable to change the server type, delete the server entry and recreate it.
The server path is valid but there is no access to the root site. To view a SharePoint environment in MacroView DMF and MacroView Message, users require read permission to the root level of the parent site collection.
See Permissions needed for DMF/Message in SharePoint Online for more information.
The server path is valid but you do not have access to the MacroView external licensing site or licensing site, possibly due to a firewall or proxy issue. Confirm that https://licensing.macroview.com.au is not blocked by your firewall, or that it is added to the list of addresses to bypass the proxy for in Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings.
See License status is 'Unknown' after entering Server Path details for more information on troubleshooting the Unknown license status.
The server has not yet been licensed.
If the server is a SharePoint Online (Office 365) tenant or an on-premises SharePoint server running in Client Side Only mode and you have a valid license key from MacroView, click Activate to start the license activation process.
Activating a new MacroView 365 or client side only license
When you click Activate next to the Unlicensed indicator the MacroView Licensing website will open in your browser and prompt you to login or create a new MacroView Licensing Account with any of your Office 365, Microsoft or Google account credentials.
If the account has not previously been used to log into the MacroView Licensing website
you will be prompted by the relevant account provider to trust the MacroView Licensing site.
You must grant this access in order to register the new account. You will then be prompted
to provide your name and email address to complete the account creation.
After you have signed in, the licence activation page will be shown.
Enter the Licence Key provided by MacroView. The SharePoint Tenant URL field will already be populated with the server name entered in the server DMF server dialog. Then click Next
Select which products to activate (at least one product must be selected) then click Next
Confirm the licence activation details and click Finish then go back to the server dialog and click Recheck
