MacroView DMF and Message automatically selects the configured 'Email' content type when saving emails.
The default email content type is defined under DMF Options > Office > Outlook
When saving emails, if the configured content type is present it will be selected whether or not it is the default content type set for that library.
MacroView DMF or Message 8.6.103 or later supports the configuring of multiple email content types by specifying each content type separated by the vertical pipe character "|"
When multiple email content types are configured, MacroView DMF and Message will check for all specified content types when saving emails and either; select one automatically or prompt the user to select the content type based on the following conditions:
No. of matching Email content types | |
None | Select default library content type |
One | Select the matching email content type |
Two or more | Prompt to select the required content type |
When saving documents or attachments, if the default content type for the library is the only content type not configured as one of the Default Email Content Type(s), MacroView DMF and Message will select it and only display the properties dialog if mandatory or optional properties need to be provided.
To configure DMF or Message to only show the properties dialog when there are mandatory columns refer to Only prompt for mandatory metadata when saving documents and emails.
